I've done a lot in my life.

I started in my father's printing works at about seven and now at sixty, I've created two world class businesses and have been programming computers for 43 years.

I was with my late wife Celia for 40 years until she died in September of cancer and now I live on a stud at Newmarket where I breed racehorses, write books and software, and investigate solutions for the future.

I should say that I'm very much a man who has interest in everybody, everything and everywhere. Except opera and swimming.

Software

I created Artemis, the world-leading project management system, that was used to build a good proportion of the major projects of the last 30 years.

Technology

I have a very great depth in all forms of technology. This led to the creation of a metered-dose inhaler for asthma drugs. I understood the technology and was able to make a very worthwhile investment.

Internet

I advise SME's on how to improve their Internet presence. I have written a book on this and I also have a nifty line in SME. I'm also an inveterate blogger.

There is nothing like the death of a loved one to make you change your life. Celia married me because she said that life would not be boring. It wasn't and some would say it was a roller-coaster. But aren't they fun! So one reason for joining is to pass on our joint knowledge about life to those starting out on that momentous journey. I also need to move my life in a different direction and who knows where it will lead. I've always believed in mentoring and several of my employees in the past, who I've taken a chance with have benefited from my rather unusual ways of running a company. Mentoring was always a part.
