I grew up in inner city London, and life threw just about everything it could at me. I'm currently unemployed and boy, is it ever fun(!). I'm gay, currently single since my girlfriend broke up with me a while back.
As a teenager I was faced with not only coming out, but doing so while attending Catholic school and living in an abusive household. If I can do it, anyone can.
Loss is something I understand. My mother died when I was twelve, followed by my stepfather, grandmother and two grandfathers in the space of seven years. Whether someone's died, moved away or just lost touch, dealing with losing someone important is hard.
After losing my mother I was sent to live with an aunt who, rather than take me in and help me as family should, instead spent years teaching me that I was worthless and evil and a burden on everyone I knew. When someone you love treats you like that, it's not normal and it's not okay.
Life has thrown just about everything it could think of at me over the years and I've managed, through the support and advice of people close to me, to get through it all. Some people don't have that kind of support available, but if I can help in any way, I'm there
