Learning

Although horsesmouth is all about learning from other people’s experiences, here you can find learning mentors who can help you figure out issues around your education, skills and training. People here are not professional advisors and don't make specific recommendations, but they have volunteered to help from the benefit of their own personal experiences. Some will be based on opportunity and inspiration others based on regrets and paths not taken. Learning sets you up for life and it never stops doing that  - so whether you're making a big choice early in life or a big change later in life you can probably find someone here who has a helpful perspective.

There are plenty of other resources for  specific information and comparison but if you just want to talk to a few people based on the choices they made and the experiences they had, then horsesmouth is right for you.

Have you always dreamt of becoming a film director, a paediatrician or even Prime Minister? Are you stuck and don't know how to get there? Whatever your ambition,or whatever is getting in the way of it, others here may have experiences and advice that could help you move forward..

Leaving school does not have to mean the end of your studies. Someone here may be able to offer you advice on university, further education, or university interview tips based on their experiences.

Basic skills courses are becoming increasingly popular. When choosing to learn a new skill the world is your oyster, from training to be an electrician or a beautician; to a builder or social worker.

For children and adults with learning difficulties and disabilities some tasks can be more of a challenge. Find information about financial help, advice and useful management techniques from others’ personal experiences.

The best way to learn how to do something is by doing it yourself – practical education and training are the key to opening many doors.

Many see it as the best years of their lives - make sure you feel the same way. horsesmouth mentors can offer advice for students and mature students about getting financial help and debt worries, careers advice and a more general student guide to survival.

The thing with REAL good friends is that you can talk to them about everything. The problem we find is that you don't want to hurt someones feelings by making them feel as if there is something wrong with them but remember you are trying to help.
