Hi, I am looking for advice as to whether it is possible to resolve a situation: In 2008/2009 I was a student in London. For 10 months I worked part-time (27 hrs) in a health food shop for £7.50 an hour. I was paid weekly cash-in-hand. Tax and NI were deducted on the spot (from £202.50 I would take home around £170) I told the owner that I would be reclaiming my tax at the end of the year - he said I should talk to him first. I didn''t trust him but I needed the job. After I left I applied to HMRC for my employment history. Their records show that I paid no Tax or NI during that period (even though around £1300 had been deducted from my wages). Is there anything I can do about this?
