Horsesmouth’s newest partner is 4Talent, Channel 4’s programme to support people from different backgrounds and walks of life to build great futures in the media. The 4Talent mentors on the site are people with experience of working across a diverse range of professions, offering advice and inspiration to others about getting started and developing in the media industry.
4Talent is taking part in this online mentoring partnership to complement its existing initiatives to help people get into and accelerate their career in the media industry, including their Work Experience Programme and a range of events, sessions and networking opportunities.
The 4Talent mentors have specific experience of working in the media - For example, amongst the 4Talent mentors PB is a radio presenter, Carina, 27 is offering advice about working in the business of end of broadcasting and being a successful female in a male-dominated world, and theferret runs a small video production company.
The safe, moderated platform of Horsesmouth is the perfect venue for this partnership. As well as being free and safe to use, Horsesmouth is already attracting a growing advice-seeking community, breaking down barriers of gender, age, religion and race to connect people seeking advice with others who are willing to give and share from the benefit of their own experiences.
